The first “Live at the Marquee” took place in 2005 when Cork was the official European Capital of Culture, the festival was a massive success and returned again in 2006 with international acts Kanye West and the legendary Bob Dylan taking to the marquee stage. The event has grown from strength to strength since its launch in 2005 with major international names topping the bill year on year.
2013’s event was no exception with none other than Elton John bringing his amazing live show to Cork. The Rocket Man singer performed an impressive 26 song set recalling all his major hits. Elton was in good company with Sting, Elvis Costello and ZZ Top all taking to the stage over the course of the Cork summer festival. 2013’s line up was an impressive mix of music legends, international superstars with chart topping acts like The Wanted, Passenger and Jessie J thrown in to add even more to this amazing festival.

The provisional bill has been released and it’s another list crammed with legends of the music industry. The final line up is a long way off, but with such major industry names already announced all the signs are that 2014 could well be the best year yet. The Silver Springs Moran Hotel in Cork played host to a glamorous corporate Thank You evening for their corporate clients, on Wednesday 4th December.
Invited guests included clients who have supported the Silver Springs throughout the year. Guests sipped on a range of festive cocktails from piña coladas, jasmine spitzers, & moijotos as they enjoyed tasty canapés and sang along to classic carols by the fantastic ten piece male choral group
“ The Kiltha Tones”.
Guests were then ushered into the Regency Suite to enjoy a festive feast created by Head Chef Gary Burke, to start Roast butternut squash soup crispy gnocchi, coconut milk infusion to Oak smoked duck breast with red chilli and coriander noodles, macerated plums, spring onion and sesame dressing, for mains guests enjoyed “Duo of lamb” Rosemary and garlic roasted leg with herb roasted cutlet, parsnip and thyme mousseline, duck fat roasted potato, mint and honey jus or Fillet of cod, sweet cherry tomato crust with cod brandade, lime roasted fennel, Pernod and tarragon essence. Finished off by a sweet to delight of Raspberry and chocolate mousse with crisp meringue, raspberry ripple ice-cream, Tia Maria anglaise

The Application Day for White Collar Boxing Cork was held at The Silver Springs Moran Hotel in Cork back in February and after 10 grueling weeks; applicants will partake in the showcase event at The Silver Springs Hotel on Saturday 30th April 2011.
Today in Ireland, White Collar Boxing is the new rage and Forever Fit Promotions is glad to be behind such a phenomenon.
