The annual Christmas pantomime starts this Wednesday 15th December in the Opera House with a showing of “Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs” the first time it has run in Cork in the 21st century. This family favorite will run from Wednesday 15th December right up to 16th January and is sure to be a hit with children of all ages, young and old.

As well as the panto Cork city is alight with the Christmas spirit with Cork cities Christmas Celebrations continuing on the Grand Parade until the 17th January and over in Mahon Point, Cork on Ice is running till the 16th January. Both of these long-running Cork Christmas events will prove to be a draw for people of all ages with the Bishop Lucey Park on the Grand Parade all especially decorated and done up into a magical “Rockin Robin” theme proving to be a fun spectacle for adults and kids alike. For more grownup entertainment there is still much coming up, with the Celtic Tenors playing a show at the Cork Opera House on the 19th December starting at 8pm, and getting one in the mood for Christmas with a mixture of classic christmas songs such as White Christmas, Winter Wonderland and The Christmas Song, the one that begins with “Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire”, as well as their usual blend of Irish, classical and folk songs.

Here at the Moran Silver Springs Hotel in  Cork we not only supply an ideal comfortable and accommodating base from which to sample some of these Cork Christmas events but we are also getting in on the Christmas celebrations with a special night of entertainment lined up for country music fans.
