Live at the Marquee Cork – Corks Summer Festival

Posted: January 6, 2014

The first “Live at the Marquee” took place in 2005 when Cork was the official European Capital of Culture, the festival was a massive success and returned again in 2006 with international acts Kanye West and the legendary Bob Dylan taking to the marquee stage. The event has grown from strength to strength since its launch in 2005 with major international names topping the bill year on year.

2013’s event was no exception with none other than Elton John bringing his amazing live show to Cork. The Rocket Man singer performed an impressive 26 song set recalling all his major hits. Elton was in good company with Sting, Elvis Costello and ZZ Top all taking to the stage over the course of the Cork summer festival.  2013’s line up was an impressive mix of music legends, international superstars with chart topping acts like The Wanted, Passenger and Jessie J thrown in to add even more to this amazing festival.

It is only January, however that doesn’t mean we can’t get excited about the potential line up for 2014. The provisional bill has been released and it’s another list crammed with legends of the music industry.  Dolly Parton, Tom Jones and the Bryan Adams to name but a few have been confirmed to play the Cork festival  during June and July 2014. The final line up is a long way off, but with such major industry names already announced all the signs are that 2014 could well be the best year yet. For the most up to date lineup and more information on accommodation rates in the Silver Springs Moran Hotel, located just ten minutes from the festival site visit the website here. We have a dedicated page for Live at the Marquee so get over and have a look and remember for best rates guaranteed always BOOK DIRECT.

This unique tour covers the more ghastly and gruesome aspects of Dublin’s history as well as tales of the supernatural which have frightened Dubliners for centuries

The Halloween Haunted History Tours offers many packages to keep your adrenaline pumping including;

The Northside Ghost Walk

An eerie evening involving walks through the oldest areas of Dublin, visiting the site of two of the most haunted houses in Dublin which once was the home of up to six ghosts, haunted hospitals, the site of a 21st century apparition of the Virgin Mary and walks through deconsecrated graveyards…not for the faint hearted.

To calm your nerves your night is concluded with special drink promotions at the Brazen Head.

The Gravedigger Ghost Tour

Sit back and listen to tales of a plague ridden Dublin.

This 4D bus tour costing €25 per person is the only bus which can transport you back to 600 hundred years ago to when the old Augustinian Priory and the plague house were a prominent part of Dublin society. Once you have arrived witness the victims tales of misery, suffering and hope for survival.
